Old Beer Cans & Breweriana for Sale • Archives for Research • Free Appraisals
Business Name: Pittsburgh Brewing Co., Pittsburgh, PennsylvaniaManufacturer/Plant: UnknownDate of manufacture: circa 1940sCondition/Comments: Terrific scene of a dog on point, showing his hunter companion where the quail quarry are hiding. Black bears look on from a nearby hillside. NOTE: There are a few small areas of restoration in the sky and we believe the gold frame has been repainted. The rest of the piece is very sharp, with magnificent color and sheen and no notable dings, dents, or creases. The only area of notable wear is on the faux Tech Beer placard at the bottom front. It appears to have been rubbed and some of the color has been removed. Possibly an attempt to remove the commercial branding, or perhaps to remove an adhesive that held another plaque in place over it. In any case, this one is very attractive and wonderfully illustrated by Hy Hintermeister. 26 w x 18-1/2 h. All items are original unless otherwise noted.
