Reference: n/aBusiness Name: Regal Amber Brewing Co., San Francisco, CaliforniaManufacturer/Plant: American Can Co.Date of manufacture: circa 1930sCanning Code: n/a Contents/Type: 12 ozCondition/Comments: Two cans from California Regal Amber brewery make up this lot of tough rust from the Dave Lang collection. The Regal Amber Ale (120-25, USBCOI 725 is killer tough on-grade (R9) and is even scarce off-grade, with an R7 rarity rating. The Blue Boar (39-35, USBCOI 120) is more common but still no slouch at R8/R5. Fortunately, the simple colors and bold designs of these labels make them easy to identify and read on the shelf even in dumper condition. Of these, the Blue Boar is the more solid can, with no holes and a firm in-hand feel. There is more intact label to read as well. The reverse is heavily dented and there are smaller dings and wrinkles at the lower front that may not show in the photos. The Regal Amber Ale is more fragile, with a small hole in the seam and some cracks in the oxidized metal on the right side. A roughly 1-inch diameter hole has been filled/repaired on the center of the rusted area. Please refer to the photos for additional design and condition details. A couple of toughies here!
