Condition/Comments: Amazing piece! Rare. Lushly illustrated and intricately cut, this scene depicts a smiling leering goat up on his hind legs, while an innocent-looking young lady sways carefree on her swing. The woman and her environment are separate pieces, not joined in any manner. Real twine has been added to the frame to add continuity to the scene. The details of the artwork are reinforced by embossed surfaces on the leaves, goat fur, and some contours of the womans clothing. The piece is wonderfully preserved, with only tiny blemishes and very little wear to the multitude of points and edges of the die cut. Just gorgeous in so many respects!
