Pickwick Ale 1940s Pressed Cardboard Sign OUTSTANDING

Condition/Comments: Outstanding example of this sign. Cardboard is pressed to create a light embossing of the bottle cap, oval, and text. No notable blemishes. An interesting note is that, when tilted to the light, an imprint can be seen on the back side of the glass of a different Pickwick design (Lot 75 from our Jan 30, 2021 auction), indicating the maker or brewery re-used glass from previous issues. The backing and frame on this piece are all original so it could only have been done by the factory. Some apparent chalking of the red is actually cloudy residue on the glass from the previous design and not fade or damage to the piece. 21 w x 13 h. All items are original unless otherwise noted.
