Business Name: Fort Pitt Brewing Co., Jeannette, Pennsylvania
Manufacturer/Plant: Unknown
Date of manufacture: circa 1940s
Condition/Comments: This sign is a fairly early example from the time when advertising was transitioning from the extensive use of illustration to the use of full-color halftone photos for more lifelike reproduction and imagery that proliferated in the 1950s. This piece employs both techniques, with illustrated bottle and glass, and a photo of the sumptuous cheese platter. The quality and color of the litho veneer layer are outstanding and there is little wear and aging. It has, however, lifted in a few places from the cardboard beneath and is a little wavy or lightly creased in those areas. Displays great. 17 w x 20-1/2 h framed. All items are original unless otherwise noted. For questions, feedback, or to sell a similar item contact Dan via email.
