Condition/Comments: Hatuey was a prominent Taino leader (cacique), from present-day Haiti and Dominican Republic, who is remembered for his resistance against Spanish colonization in Cuba, where he traveled to warn the native population about the impending invasion. While the can is oxidized uniformly throughout its surface, the colors and design do not seem to be much affected, other than some inconsistency in the white that may be due as much to the initial ink coverage as with aging.
