Business Name: Fort Pitt Brewing Co., Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Manufacturer/Plant: Unknown
Date of manufacture: circa 1940s
Condition/Comments: Scene on this piece shows a group of British redcoats unwinding at the tavern. This may be a conceptual piece as it is constructed from incongruous components that may have come from different sources: the litho on the bottom is adhered to the gold foil top portion that does not extend the full height of the sign. The lower portion has cut out notches on the left and right edges. It is actually unclear whether this piece is actually die cut as the mat obscures its true contour, but the shape implies that it is. Other than the cut notches there are few marks and the gold foil shines brightly. Framed size is 16-1/2 w x 23 h. All items are original unless otherwise noted.
