Reference: n/aBrewery: Fort Edward Brewing Co., Fort Edward, New YorkManufacturer/Plant: UnmarkedDate of manufacture: Pre-ProhibitionCanning Code: n/a Contents/Type: n/aCondition/Comments: This large (4L? 1 gal?) pitcher is one of just a few surviving pieces of any type known from this tiny New York brewer. And what a piece it is! While there may not be a great deal of play given to the brewery name—with it appearing only at the bottom rim—the detail of the imagery and the textured surface are exquisite detail not often found in stoneware. The bulldog is especially engaging. The condition is as marvelous as the design itself, and the piece presents as new except for light wear and patina to the soft pewter lid. The holes in the blue stars on each side indicate there may have been a wire carrying handle attached at one time (or merely that the piece could accommodate one). 9 w including the handle x 11-1/2 including thumb tab. 7-inch diameter. Wow! All items are original with no post-production alterations detected unless noted. For more info, questions, or to report errors in this lot contact Dan via email.
