Condition/Comments: RARE sign announces the availability of Portsmouth Ale using the same brewmaster and formula as that of the more renowned Frank Jones Ale. The specific use of the word STRONG implies this ad was produced shortly after Repeal, an attempt to woo consumers to a full strength beer and likening/linking it to that brewed by a pre-Prohibition powerhouse brewery and famous brewmaster. Condition is very good, with all text and imagery completely legible. The piece was printed on low-quality cardboard with a high acid content so it has toned with age. There are a few small moisture stains and edge wear as shown, in addition to the missing top right corner. A few minor creases at the corners and top edge as well. 11 w x 15 h.
