Business Name: Independent Brewing Co., Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Manufacturer/Plant: Unknown
Date of manufacture: Pre-Prohibition
Condition/Comments: Rare sing paints the Prohibitionist movement in a bad light with a very unflattering portrayal of a Carrie Nation character. Carry Nation was an American temperance advocate famous for using a hatchet to demolish barrooms while she sang or prayed. Illustrated by Maynard Williamsohn. Orange color adds to the odd portrayal and certainly eye-catching! Duquesne Beer Is Good For All Nations slogan. A very intriguing sign in excellent condition with a few moisture spots but no foxing or heavy staining. Nice! 24 w x 13 h framed. All items are original unless otherwise noted.
