Condition/Comments: This rare, early and graphic sign advertises Cardinal Bottled Beer, Costs 25% More to Brew but Worth MORE. The rich subject matter includes a Dutch looking lad in wooden shoes delivering a crate of Cardinal Beer to a family seated at the dinner table, along with larger bottles of Cardinal Beer at the bottom corners. Manufactured by Meyercord Co. of Chicago, by a process called Decalcomania transfer (whereby the artwork is transferred to the wooden substrate). Circa 1906 or so. Condition is excellent for this type of early sign. There is some crazing and light wear. The top wood laminate is lifting/cracking a bit mostly on the right side. Someone handy with wood and/or framing likely would easily correct this. This recently discovered sign is the better of only 2 of these of which we are aware as the colors are bold and bright and the overall presentation is very strong. All original, For more info or questions regarding this lot contact Dan via email.
