Condition/Comments: There is so much going on in this illustration of King Gambrinus! While it may not be as chock-full of fantastic figures and creatures, it is reminiscent of the art on Elton Johns Captain Fantastic album cover and works by Hieronymus Bosch, with little nuances and discoveries to be made wherever one looks. For example, note the man to the left of the barrels looking up the skirt of the woman on the platform above him, and the curious creature curled up beneath the chair of the figure in the foreground; Gambrinus is wearing a crown of tiny barrels and crosses. The condition is excellent, with fine shine and smooth surface that is marked by light wear but no oxidation. There is a small chip or production flaw on the brown fabric beneath the arm of Gambrinus. A small ding at 8-o-clock may not be evident in the photos. Nice! 13-inch.
