Text at bottom: Making the Emblem of Personal Liberty. From the celebrated original painting in the possession of Horlacher, Allentown, PA, U.S.A. The American flag was authorized by resolution of Congress June 14th 1777, and publicly proclaimed by the same Sept 3rd, 1777. It was made by Betsy Ross in the house No. 230 Arch Street, Philadelphia and first unfurled at the Battle of Brandywine, Sept. 11th, 1777. Woven in its every thread is the story of personal liberty of the individual and the guarantee of his right to exercise and defend it. About 29 x 36 inches framed/matted. Litho is all original.
