Ruppert from the artist, Nelson Harding. Nelson Harding (October 31, 1879 – December 30, 1944) was the famed cartoonist for the Brooklyn Daily Eagle. He won the annual Pulitzer Prize for Editorial Cartooning in both 1927 and 1928, the only cartoonist ever to win in consecutive years. Cartoons are titled The False Prophet and Ol' Man River. False Prophet shows the Dry Alarmist false predictions of orgy of drunkenness and disorder. Ol' Man River celebrates Repeal showing Drys, Alibis, and Anti-Saloon League and Tennessee washing away down the river. They are an interesting depiction of the anti-prohibition view. According to the 1991 Lynn Geyer catalog, these came from the Ruppert brewery. Condition is excellent with some toning and slight stains. Each is about 15 x 15 inches. All original.
