Brewery: Anheuser-Busch. St. Louis, MissouriManufacturer/Plant: Raymond M. Price & Assoc.Date of manufacture: circa 1940Contents/Type: 14 1/2" x 7" x 2 3/4" reverse painted glass back bar displayCondition/Comments: A heavy metal base supports this 1930s era Art Deco style sign. It’s more understated than most Art Deco pieces—leaving the Budweiser branding front-and-center—but the cues are there: The rounded edge to the glass that echoes the double line on each side of the A-B logo, the concentric round architectural elements at each end of the base. This sign is also unusually longer and thinner than other back bar pieces in this auction that all tend to be more vertical. There is some lifting of the red and some blackening of the silver foil. The base is intact other than some scratching on the right side around and including the green paint.
